How long does it take for HTTPS to work on my domain?
Updated Oct 7, 2026
Usually just minutes. The certificate is issued automatically once your DNS points to ShortGo and the domain is verified; DNS propagation can add some delay.
Usually only a few minutes. ShortGo issues the HTTPS certificate automatically as soon as two things are true:
- the TXT verification record has been found, and
- your A/AAAA or CNAME record points to ShortGo.
Most waiting time comes from DNS propagation at your registrar or DNS provider, which can sometimes take longer. You can check the status on the domain’s page under Domains.
If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set the CNAME to “DNS only” (grey cloud) until the certificate is active — a proxied record can block issuance. Still stuck? Contact support via /contact.
